Good choices. Black edition CPUs OC pretty well.

TBH, I'd get a phenom. Performance is a lot better

Otherwise decent budget build.

nah just a mid level gaming machine, for him to mess around with wanted to make a cheap monster for him, only have 80 bucks for a pci ex 16x vid card any suggestions posted this in ati vid cards, sorry for the double post

FYI, that 5000+ BE don't come with a HSF.

I'd do this instead.

It's exactly $1 less, has a much better motherboard capable of supporting Phenom CPUs, and better RAM, IMHO, thanks to the Cas Latency of 4.

Also, for $90 you could get this Gygabyte mATX that OCs well and put the money you save into a better vid card
