So many Choices

as of next monday i will be working for 2 weeks at Royal Wibledon to get me some cash (family catering buisness) and i expect to rake in £400-£500 for those 2 weeks.

What i need is help deciding what to buy.
I will list what i want in what i would consider order of importance lol. 1 - 100 most - least important

1.Monitor (gaming at 52ms is bad)
2.GPU (8600gts showing its age)
3.PSU (mine aint even enuf to power an 8800gt :S)

4. Case (i have mutilated my £28 xblade case lol)

Thats all i cud think of cause everything else i got is OK for gaming. Top 3 Are essential with 3 being essential if 2 is high end. Was looking at getting ati 4870 (not a typo), any monitor about 19" prefrably widescreen with under 10ms delay. Psu dont matter as long as itl power my stuff. case - full ATX wid room for a 240mm Wc radiator.

I have got a trip to Malasia planned for Late next month and as i understand pc componants are about 10-20% cheaper in a place called LowYat Plaza by Kuala lumpa (not sure of spelling) so i may be able to hold off and get some stuff. I REFUSE to buy an 8800gt as i have ordered 4 in the past and have had to RMA all of them out of box so have never even seen the performance of an 8800gt. I would prefer an ATI card because of spider platform and the sudden veiw of the fact that ATI are very close to reclaiming there GPU crown with teh 4800 series.

pref res XXXXx1050

PLease help me decide by throwing in you P.O.V

ye 4 cards

3 in one string of RMA's to Overclockers.co.uk and one from my local computer fair. All from the same £130 that i eventualy spent on a new Keyboard, mouse, headset and soundcard.

I dont want a 3870 because i have seen the performance compared to my 8600gts and, considering the performance diffrence, I dont belive that splashing out on an old card will benifit me in 1-2 years when the challangin stuff realy does come out.

Im looking at 4870 specs (rumors) and dousing my keyboard in drool.

Uh, 400-500 pounds is like 900USD!
You could buy a good rig with that much!
Though if you're only going to be upgrading GPU, monitor, and PSU, spend 400 on a 22" Samsung, 300 on 4870, and 200 on Corsair 1000HX.
EDIT: Oh wait, UK is more expensive than the US.
Ok I can't help you, don't know _ about UK prices.

works out at about 450 pounds. i could probly get all that for 400 from malasia but im not sure about the monitor as if they dont decompress baggage storage on a plane then the screen could get cracked.
