not at the northbridge, atm i am slowly increasing the vcore.. stay tuned to find out what happens.. i have increased from 1.4vcore to 1.43vcore. Cpuz reads 1.392v. still no success in getting orthos past 12sec run time. however temps still seem to be ok.

You gotta get rid of that vdroop. It's really giving your system a hard time at being stable running orthos.

Here is a link to help CPUZ give the same voltage as your bios instead of dropping down into windows and dropping when a load enters the equation:

680i Overclocking Guide

Also you dont need 1.55 on your MCP, switch it back to 1.5
Your SPP doesnt need 1.5 either, which you discovered. 1.4 should be enough.

Your vcore is definatly what you should be raising.
Watch your temps.

You're ahead of me mate, I'm gonna push mine a bit further to 3.33GHz if I can, but I can't really spare the voltage as I'm already at 55C under load

lol, if your scared about 55c then im really in trouble... i have a feeling either their is something wrong with Core Temp, or i am doing something wrong.. although i have increased the vcore to 1.45v in Bios.. i have managed to now run Orthos for a whole 16min w/o error. but none the less im still getting an error. im not to excited about the pencil mod unless it will truely help.

so anyhow, idle temp is 44c, while running orthos for the whole 16min that it will, Temp peaks at a high 66c :'( i would still like to know what is causing orthos to error though.

definitely do the pencil mod, it's very easy, just follow the guide and make a few passes with a good # 2 pencil. It makes the voltage extremely stable. If I set my vcore to 1.4325 in bios, it's 1.42 something in cpu-z or speedfan. During stress testing or any load it stays stable and doesn't drop.

As far as your orthos error goes, the only thing you can do is increase vcore, try taking it up more and see if it goes away. I would do the penicl mod first though.

Btw that idle temp is pretty high, the AC-7 is a good cooler but definitely not the best. I would consider a better cooler, xigmatecs are good and not too expensive. I see that you live in Miami so maybe your ambient temps are high?

Given ambient temps and your cooler 3.5 is a lofty goal but until you try you never know what you can do with what you got. +1 for trying!! By trying to get to 3.5 I bet you can do 3.4 now pretty easy. I would back it down a bit until you get a better cooler. Idling at 44 would scare me, I idle at 30 but I have 22C ambient and have an extreme air cooling set-up in my case.

I tried to push higher last night, dropped to x7 multi, 1900 fsb (475x7) with ~1.435 and was stable for about 10 minutes before it rebooted. Temps were good and instead of going higher with my vcore like I should have I just backed down to my rock solid 3.2(400x8) with 1.42. I might try it again tonight, just needed more vcore but I wanted to game so I cut my OC session short!
