Ran Into a Slight Problem.. - Page 4

Check out OCCT, it is the way forward. Temps, voltages, and stress testing in one handy package. And the stress test only takes 2 hours instead of 6!

alright so i am at a 1400mhz fsb to obtain the 3.5ghz core clock, ddr speed at 800mhz as that is the original speed for the ram. temps till exceed 60c which by reading around is bad for the e6700. im really not to concerned with longevity as i just want to learn to make it a stable overclock at this speed.

alright well, i have new question. Would orthos give an error because temps were to high? im basically tying to find out why i cant get past a 16min orthos run as i stated before peak temp is 66c roughly 60-62c most of the time, 44-45c idle. Is there a way to achieve the same speed as I am at currently with less heat/voltage other then having to change my cooling?

update, seems the problem was my vcore voltage as i suspected. Only problem i have with being able to get a stable orthos run with the voltage required is my temps.. At the vcore of 1.475 it seems to run beyond 18min which tells me the Vcore voltage is what i need to increase. but my temps are going through the roof. peak temp during test was 71c for a split sec stayed at 70c for a couple min. Then i stopped test cuz im not trying to dmg the chip if i havn't already. So im going to look into other methods of cooling, i had thought the Artic Cooling Freezer 7 Pro was a nice air cooler. It seems it just cant take the OC i had thought it would beable to. Thanks to everyone who posted trying to help out.
