I am seeing very few occt code failures ????

the bloody thing just reboots
stable at 365 x 10 24hour prime blend
it ran a 4 hour prime large fft session at 366 x 10 , then baulk on the last 2 mins off a 2hour occt session ,

I just don't get it

does anybody else see reboots under stress testing ??? or just code failures in occt or thread failures in prime ???

I could come to the conclusion that this asus board has a signal integrity problem on a reset line or on a bus clk

I get failures on one core or two [just FSBv tuning though]..but rarely get random reboots, unless the MCHv or Vcore is too low.

Hi can I ask how old you q6600 is ?

and what sort of core temps do you see with that vcore in prime ( with ambient )
many thanks

My G0 Q6600 is about 8months old.. I forget the batch #.. L728A counds right.. but that could be my E6700 :O Running Dual-Orthos small FTT's, load temps are right at ~52-55c with ~78F ambients near the radiator. Single Orthos, loads two cores right about ~44-46c.

It has been very hot here lately..98-106F so ambients are less than ideal. Last winter I was loading Dual-Orthos on my B3 stepping Q6600 @ 44c.

Hey everyone. Ive got a p5k deluxe with a q6600 @ 3.7ghz, at 1.384 vcore. Detailed info is in my sig. I read somewhere that the black slots work better for ram overclocking ability. I think it was eva2000 from xtremesystems.

Also, the cpu voltage reference is KEY to stability. I had it on auto, and got to 3.7ghz. The setup would reboot about every other day, but would pass a prime95 test for 8+ hours no problem. I set it to .61 I believe (1.6v pll) and It doesnt have the problem anymore.

On that link about the transaction booster I saw that enabling it and setting it to 0 or 1 helps. I have it disabled currently, and im not too happy with my ram performance. Ill try setting it to 0 or 1 and seeing what happens. I also read that:
.61x cpu volt ref with 1.6v pll < .63x cpu volt ref with 1.7v pll

EDIT: TEST RESULTS ON TRANSACTION BOOSTER
I previously had this disabled, as I didnt think that I could use it at the speeds I was running. I was wrong. Dead wrong.

Boost level 0:
Ram Read: 8278 mb/sec
Ram Write: 7501 mb/sec
Ram Copy: 7676 mb/sec
Ram Latency: 61.7ns

Boost level 1:
Ram Read: 8530 mb/sec
Ram Write: 7471 mb/sec
Ram Copy: 7843 mb/sec
Ram Latency: 59.3ns

Boost level 2:
Ram Read: 8796 mb/sec
Ram Write: 7503 mb/sec
Ram Copy: 7921 mb/sec
Ram Latency: 56.6ns

Im doing memtest86 on the boost level 2 right now, so far its not giving errors. If this is stable, Ill have gained:

~500mb/sec ram read
~0mb/sec write speed
~300mb/sec write speed
~5ns faster latency

I also tried enabling the dram static read thing, system didnt post.

static read control is for manual adjustment of the PL#, make sure you have your MCHv boosted a bit to hold it stable.

*If you use MemSet, it will display the PL# and many of the timings that your BIOS does not. It will help you to better understand the settings in your BIOS, as you will be able to see what changes are made from what adjustments, once you are in Windows.
