But hey, you can all get your jollies by saying 'lol mac has exploits.." But they always have, and they are still more secure than a windows machine.

Edit: Chipp, yeah.. No safer from a software standpoint, maybe.. But most of the exploits on OSX hasnt been the actual operating system, but 3rd party software creating backdoors *cough adobe*.
Wasn't OSX hacked via 1st party program - safari? I believe it was Vista that was hacked through Adobe Flash. Pwn2Own was the official name of the competition.

Does it really matter if it's a virus or a trojan? The bottom line is that, because of their advertising, Apple has convinced the average Joe that they are invincible when they never really were (as Chipp pointed out).

Most Trojans enter a system through third party software. If Apple were to tighten the leash even more on devs, surely even less people would go Mac. They really better think hard about the next decade or so.

I thought that was hilarious, since people always talk about how terrible IE is at closing off all the ways in, and yet it wasn't IE that was hacked through.

Love the attack on college students who own macs, my oh so clever friend.

...I am so very scared of more trojans! OH MY LORD. From what I have heard of the most recent trojan--you have to be dumber then a hammer with a rubber band wrapped around it to get it...or just really low on sleep.

OS X was hacked through Quicktime, not safari (using that browser in the first place is the problem...). From what I've read, that vulnerability has been fixed. There are many more out there, but no reason to get your panties in a bunch about it.

Well, it was only a matter of time.

I disagree with the general consensus that Mac's are safer/more secure--which, with my limited comprehension of them, is no more true than saying Windows is less safe/less secure--it's all about targeting. It's like saying a certain make of car is safer just 'cause fewer people have gotten into accidents with it--it's not inherent to the item, but rather what happens to be done to it...meh, i dunno. Anyway, hopefully the macies keep their guards up...
