ATI besting Nvidia in Linux? Can pigs fly?
If you don't mind installing drivers (which at this point is not that hard), either solution should work nicely. However, if you want a "plug and play" experience, the HD3200 (paired with an up-to-date distro like Hardy or Fedora 9) is the best choice, but then you don't have a viable way of accelerating HD content.

nVidia is still my choice for linux

but ATi is catching up. their drivers WORK now.

now they need a CUDA.
