That's not a true RAID 0+1 . If you lose one drive with the Intel Matrix storage manager configuration (via partitions), you still lose everything. In RAID 0+1 with 4 drives, if you lose 1 drive out of the 4 (whatever drive), you can still have you data intact.

You only lose the RAID 0 boot partition. Just ghost that over to a backup device. It is still a way to get RAID 0 for boot and your apps and have a RAID 1 storage area for your data WHILE ONLY USING 2 DRIVES.
