Huge Problem with New Build. Need Help

Sorry for the wrong read, but i am in desperate need of help

So after making a build of my own i told my friend that i would make a build almost identical to mine. here are the specs of his build:
Antec 900, q6600, evga 680i, 2x evga 8800gts, corsair 750w PSU, 4gb g.skill ram 1066

now after i installed the whole thing i first start to realize problems during the windows installer (by the way is build is gonna be vista 64 bit). we would get to this one point in the install and it would freeze (could still use the mouse just nothing would happen). i finally let it sit there for 10 minutes and it started working again. then when i first boot it up in windows, it was extrememly slow for about 5 minutes then all the sudden started to work perfectly. i was thinking it was the ram so i ran memtest, but it was fine.

Then after all of this, all the sudden it justs starts up blank screen. when it goes past the bios and starts up windows thats when it goes blank screen. doesn't even get to a microsoft loading screen. as i think about it more, we were using a tv screen for a monitor plugged into s-video. could that be the problem? i could still see all the stuff with the bios with the tv but who knows...

i really am completely out of ideas. i am going to work right now and then going over to his house right after, so im hoping you guys could help me out some. i really appreciate any help you guys can give me.

i had the same issue when i built my system. I RMA'd the ram (even though memtest came back fine) and i have not had the issue anymore.

Also, try installing Vista with only 2 gb installed. Sometimes that fixes it.
