Coming to you this fall. Maybe I'll have to grab one of those sweet combos.
Careful there. Blizzard has not announced a release date for Starcraft 2 yet, lets not give anyone any ideas. I'm going to stick to my prediction of a XMas shopping season 08' release that I made when the game was announced last May. (07') The next Worldwide Invitational in Paris is coming up soon too, its about a week away. Maybe they will announce a release date, maybe not.

Blizzard may not release games all the time, but they do have a huge base of gamers that are extremely loyal to their games, and the next time they buy a computer, they're going to be looking for ATI graphics if Blizzard tells them that ATI will perform better than Nvidia. Hell, I'm willing to bet that a good 20% of Nvidia card purchases are based on the TWIMTBP campaign.
Blizzard does indeed have a huge fanbase of gamers that are extremely loyal, and I am definitely one of them. The games that have had the biggest impact on me are Starcraft, Diablo II and War3. War3 has had the biggest impact on my gaming life. I've been playing it on a very regular basis since it was release around 6 or 7 years ago. I cannot even begin to fathom how many hours I have played the game since I first purchased it.

Just thought of a picture that I took recently of my collection of Blizzard games...I think this is what you would call a loyal fan. Notice that War3 is running too. The original Warcraft:Orcs and Humans game is so old that it says MS-DOS & Macintosh CDROM. Thats how old it is. Also notice that WoW is no where to be found, yes I did get it when it came out but only played it for a week or so. Couldn't get into the MMO style and I still cant to this day.

This talk about how a particular ATI or Nvidia product will run better with certain games should be taken with a grain of salt. I seriously doubt there are noticeable differences between two similar cards on a particular game. I'm not gonna sweat 3 fps. I'm not exactly a video card buff so I'll leave it at that.

Oh, I'm not saying that the games will actually play better on ATI cards - but if enough relatively inexperienced PC gamers see ATI splash screens on their favourite games, that's probably what they're going to be shopping for come upgrade/new rig time.

I suppose we could although I barely play the game anymore. Clan RooF is where I chill on the East server. Stop by if you'd like.

Without nVidia optimization and with ATI optimization it truly will be a slaughter in these games. Although it may not seem like it on the surface if you pay attention between nVidia optimized and non-optimized games you'd see their engine isn't nearly as good without optimization. (Not a bad thing exactly, that is just their strategy, their cards are probably made in such a way to boost gains from optimization even.)

well done ATI, amazing bounce back from last year... I own a 88GT and I'm still rooting for them to get back in the game!
