well ya ill play at 1280x1024, like right now i play BF2 at 1280x1024 max settings 8xaa nad 16xaf, and i get around 30-40 fps... jets .. 50-60, and when under attack and tank, choppers, arty drops down to 20.. maybe even less. (it does happen taht much).

but i wanna run full settings and SMOOTH, and also if i get the new Battle field (the one on the FrostBite engine.. bad company? ) i saw some videos, will i play at highest settings with no problem or will i need to start upgrading my cpu mobo ram.. ?

If you're not that serious about gaming anymore, why spending $200 on a GPU?

and a month after you buy it, it will be worth much less than that. that is what we get into when we build these PC's. I just got an appraisal on my sig rig (which i have spent much more on) and it came out to 1500.00. The water cooling alone was almost 500.00. You are better buying what makes you happy, if i were you i would get the 9800gtx now, or get the 8800gt and SLi them later on.

I do some video editing..
I got 2 communities for CZ and LFS.

Making movies etc.
Plus I make movies for myself (church videos, friends cars.. etc)

I still play 2-3 hours or more of games a day...
im saying im not pullin 10-12 hours anymore.

But when i do play my games, i want them to be best quality.

.... and cause i dont have a gf to spend money on
which has nothing to do with why i can afford 200 bux on a video card.

Then maybe you should just get yourself a 8800GT then. It can handle the resolutions that you asked plus I play all my games at 1440 x 900 all fine. Just might be your CPU that might bottleneck it maybe.

get an 8800gt. You can find them for around 150 or so (or go to the deal section). i sent you a pm about an 8800 i have for sale.

I think that the 8800gt will handle what you want. From what i have seen the 9800gtx only performs marginally better. Now, the 9800gtx+, i am not sure of (which is still within your budget)

I stand with my recommendation for the 9800GTX. In the sub-$250 range is the best pick (for nVidia that is... )

Pair it with an opty, get a (pair of) monitors that can handle a higher resolution (since it'll cause a HUGE CPU bottleneck with 1280x1024), and enjoy! The Opty will be just fine. Again, the whole CPU bottleneck thing is mostly a hype.

And later, when you upgrade, it's easy to add a second (and maybe even a third, since the 9800GTS does support Tri-SLI) for relatively little money.

And to think tri-sli 9800GTX is cheaper than a GTX280, lol.
