post #1 of 6
Thread Starter
I just got this computer put together and I need some OC Help as I'm new to the whole OC'ing thing. Anyone have any experience with this board?

Temps @ Idle with an Arctic Freezer 7 Pro Are;
Core1: 42c
Core2: 41c
(ambient room temperature is around 75 degrees)

Thanks

Crank up the fan speed on the AF pro. Also, what do you need help on? OCing is pretty simple, go into Bios, change FSB or multi, reboot, and see if it's stable, if not give it more volts or reduce FSB or multi.

How Do you change the fan speed on the AF pro.

Speedfan says all fans are 100% but the CPU fan is only on 2243 RPM

Those idle temps suck. Clean your CPU and Heatsink with Artic Cleaner and properly apply Arctic Silver 5. http://www.arcticsilver.com Should be able to idle between 29-33C no problem at stock volts.

And a simple way to start your OC out right is to just flip your FSB to 1066, unlink your RAM and leave it back at 800 or 667, up the CPU voltage to 1.4 and NSB/SB other volts by .1 each and let her rip. That should get up and running at 2.6ghz and you check your temps, load test, and tweak from there.

Once you get the CPU up around 3ghz you can go back to RAM. Check the volts on your RAM (you will probably need to run at 2.1v or 2.2v) and clock it up to 1066 with the timings on the label and see if you can get it stable!

I got the CPU Stable at 2.4 ghz Load temps are Core 1: 52c Core 2: 53c
Idle Temps are Core 1: 30c Core 2: 31c
I ran orthos overnight and it didnt have any errors

The people this computer is for won't need much more than 2.4 out of it. It's just for basic computing, office accounting software, internet browsing, and their daughter is into PC gaming so I threw in a good graphics card for her gaming.
