Quad Core Insert For FuZion? - Page 2

Yeah if you installed it with the wrong orientation (pretty easy to do), or even worse, hooked up the tubing on the fuzion backwards (I did that once), it would be much worse temps.

What were your temps without the nozzle? We need a comparison to draw a conclusion.

Also, just got home and saw that's idle. The quad plate made little difference at idle, it was load where the temp increased massively.

If your running a AMD quad core processor you don't need it. The AMD Quads are only one Die, unlike the Intel's that are 2 die's fused together and the nozzle splits the water stream to direct the flow onto the 2 dies of the Intel chips.

But for your 6700 I would go with it...

I tried my quad nozzle on my 9850 BE when I first got it and the temps were better without the nozzle.

this may be a stupid question (stupid is as stupid does )

if my pin 1 (or the 45 cut on the cpu ) is in the bottom right hand corner as you look at it .

I think ( and my be wrong ) the 2 dies are split along the Horizontal with the main heat plate along the left hand edge .

so should the split in the nozzle be along this horizontal split ??

as being a dufuus I think I have it perpendicular to this !!!! DOOOOOH

can somebody confirm this to me
cheers

just a quick update to my dufussness,

I have rotated my d-tek v2 90 degrees , to what I think is the correct split for the quad insert .

temps were 4-6c different between cores 1,2 & 3,4
now they are only 2-3c , max temps are about the same .

I am oc to 365x10 on my q6700 with a vcore of 1.41v and see temps of upto 60c with 15-18c ambient are these temps high for water cooling a q6700?

cheers
