Help Overclocking Q6600+RAM

Thread Starter
I've seen posts like mine before but none of them really help me as I've got a different setup.. I need help. Detailed help, preferably.

I've got a Q6600 with G0 stepping
It's in a DFI Lanparty P35 board. .
I've got 2 sticks of Crucial Ballistix DDR2 800 1GB RAM these are set to specified timings of 4-4-4-12 @ 2.2V.

I've heard people clocking this RAM to 1066 easily so long as it keeps cool. How do you do this? Like I said, I've got the timings set as specified. The RAM Speed in BIOS is set to "Auto" and there's a bunch of different settings like 266/1066 (or something.. i don't remember exactly what they all said)
What do these settings mean? How do I clock the RAM up?

I also want to try to up my CPU a bit. I tried to just change the fsb and multiplier by myself but couldn't get it to boot. Default sets the fsb and multiplier to 266 x9.
All I tried to do was change that to 400 x6 because someone said that would give me a 1:1 ratio with my RAM.
266*9=2394
400*6=2400
I don't see what I'm doing wrong here. I'm not really clocking it up at all for the system not to boot. I don't want any dramatic increase right now. I'm just trying to figure all of this out. I'd be happy if I got it to 3.0 right now.

Thank you all for any help

an Aggressive FSB of 400mhz requires more vcore to keep the comp stable. my comp's on water cooling and i cant even get it to boot @ 3.3ghz with a 7x multiplier. 1:1 ram ratio is ideal but u dont HAVE to go for it. try it with a 8x multiplier for ur 3.0ghz with all ur voltage set to auto first and that'll give u the baseline of what's required. after it boots then u slowly nip away to see how low u can go for stability.

Do I have to mess with the NB or SB voltage? There is an option for those as well..

Also, why does the fsb matter for changing the voltagE? In the end I'd still be coming out with the same total.

The CPU speed is the same, but the fsb is dramatically higher. Here is an easy o/c for the CPU. Put your fsb at 333x9 = 3.0 You should be able to get this from stock settings. If it's not stable, bump up the vcore a notch or 2.
