6600GT Users! - Page 2

I had one but it had bad ram but I was able to play Lineage II on highest at 1280 x 1024. GTA: San Andreas on High with no AA, Scarface on High with no AA, Warcraft III and expansion, SoF2, Star Wars Galaxies all on High. Battlefield 2, Battlefield 2142, Halo on Medium. I think BF2 was on High though but don't quote me on that.

NFS Carbon, Underground 2, GRAW, GRAW2, Ragnarok Online, Civ 4, AoE III and expansion all on High as well.

All my resolutions were 1280 x 1024 until I upgraded to my 2 x 22" Samsung Syncmasters and then it was 1680 x 1050 on all of them. I always played with no AA on all games that had AA.

6600GT was my prievious card, played oblivion on med settings at a ok framerate. What I like about older GPU's like this is you can go out and buy all of these old games and have a blast.

6600GT's will never die.

Yeah I'm basically buying this card to play Call Of Duty... People said the X1550 wouldn't be able to handle it.

Although, I should be getting an Ati X850xt in the next week or so

Hope this helps.

Have you considered the 6800GTO? That this was the 8800GTX of its time...

yeah, that gs has a different core. Actually it is the core out of the 6200 with a few extra features. Back to the point, I learned to OC on a 6600gt and by the gods that thing was indestructible. I volt modded it, bios modded it, and overclocked it by 50% for daily use. All was well until I broke it during and upgrade. I wonder what current cards will get this same level of respect and fond memories 3 years from now?

You should be able to come very close to maxing BF2 at lower resolutions, and I'd expect it to handle COD4 fine on medium settings. I had one for ages (until it died, and I was unable to get a replacement from eVGA so I had to take a 6800). Great card! Way more power than its price tag would suggest!

Definitely a great card. I was using one up until two weeks ago when I built my current rig.
