Hypertransport multiplier not working?

I went through a couple overclocking guides, and then booted into bios. I changed K8 <-> HT Speed to 4x, upped CPU Freq to 230, and turned the memory down to 667. However, the HT speed change does not show up on CPU-Z or CrystalMark. The CPU Freq and Memory Speeds changed but the HT is still reported as 230 x 5 = 1150, which is over 1000 mhz and is bad. Booting back into BIOS reveals the HT setting is still 4x. So is this because the software is not able to detect my HT clock correctly, or is my BIOS not working? I'm betting my money on the software is bad, but it's just a hunch.

Hey, I never dealt with AMD CPUs so as far as overclocking goes, I know nothing lol, but what's for sure is that if your OS is stable, the BIOS is fine. BIOS don't really break, they get corrupted/bricked, that's as far as it goes. However CPU-z should read your CPU frequency correctly, the problem comes from the software, I agree with you on that.

Alright, as long as someone agrees with me, I feel safe to break my computer.
