Having a few problems with bootup according to event viewer. On Bootup, there is several DCOM errors and a "Bonjour service hung on starting", and "the following services failed to load" and then it lists some **** from when i had an old firewall on there. But thats not what I'm too worried about, its this
The NTPort Library Driver service failed to start due to the following error:
The specified driver is invalid.

I know what the purpose of it is, but my question is how would I get this fixed as it does seem a useful tool and I dont want to pay the 30 bucks these websites are charging. Any suggestions? Running sfc/ scannow doesnt seem to work after the SP3 upgrade for windows, will have to get the SP3 install disc or slipstream some time soon.

Also, no big deal but been having a problem where a majority of the programs load (like 19 out of the 21) but then theres a minute delay, then suddenly the LAN connected Icon appears and loading of the programs continue. Have set everything to manually configured and still delay. Please Help.

P.S.- included is a snapshot of a bootlog I recently took

Explain what you mean by "Start Up". It takes me about 20 seconds to get to my wallpaper screen, but it takes a little bit after that to start up antivirus and such.

Also, if you getting random errors, it's probably because of a virus or registry problems. Do a system restore to a time when it didn't happen.

By bootup I mean after I log in and all desktop icons are loaded. Then its the waiting game. And I have run several programs like AWC, RegXP, Easy Cleaner, and Chkdsk. System restore is kind of out of the question but good suggestion. (Review our TOS please)

With XP I had before. Ming was loading up less than 30 secs for sure. It was pretty fast actually. Since I managed all the stuff I wanted to startup in RUN: MSCONFIG, Startup...

I read his post.

I'm pursuing the fact he should turn some of his start up programs off.

but I cant though. alot of those programs provide background services that are useful and my PC can run just fine now that it has the extra RAM. It's the error messages/weird pause in loading programs before LAN activates that I care about.
