800x600
1024x768
1280x1024
1440x900
1680x1050
1600x1200
1920x1200
2560x1600

since the res's that they tested were 1280x1024 and 1600x1200, that left 2 bigger res's left: 1900x1200 and 2560x1600. since almost no one has 2560x1600 (ie 30" monitors), the only major res left that would mean anything to a decent number of people would be 1920x1200.
640*480
800*600
1024*768
1440*900
1280*1024
1680*1050
1600*1200
1920*1200
2560*1600

Point being that 1280*1024 is bigger than 1440*900.

um..pretty sure thats wrong.

1280x1024 is within standard aspect ratio (cant remember the numbers), 1440x900 is 16:9, which is a wide-screen resolution.

1280x1024 = 1310720 pixels

1440x900 = 1296000 pixels.

What is your Crysis benchmark result? I hold 5th place with my current setup and with the GX2 that I used to own (before I had to sell it). So, btw, you can touch 20k in 3dmark06 but can you touch 78 FPS in the Crysis benchmark?

All of the #1 spots in the Crysis Benchmark thread are held by a 9800 GX2 owner: http://www.overclock.net/benchmarkin...ts-thread.html

Who cares about crysucks? Go back to swinging from the pubes of Nvidia. Thanks.

Well of course the 9800 GX2 holds the highest spot, because crysis is heavily coded for nvidia.......

1) Crysis is optimized for nvidia.
2) Crysis sucks.

Therefore, no-one cares.

Your omission of any Crysis benchmarks results tells me that your results would prove my point. Thanks.

Oh, and I would rather swing on nVidia's nuts than on the nuts of a dying company.

It's as simple as this:

You can buy 2 or 5 or however many ATI cards you want and build a sweet Crossfire system to match a single top-end nVidia card (for half the money?), but the reality of this is we are not dealing with anyone that has no system and is about to plop down $1500 on a system. Our rigs are already built. I am not going to rip out my current mobo and spend the money on a friggin cR0ssf!r3 or SL-EYE motherboard so I can then buy 2 ATI or nVidia video cards, force myself to buy a more powerful PSU with all them extra PCI-E connectors, and then have to deal with having less room in my tower, have more heat built up, and hope to Allah that my electric bill doesn't go up.

Yeah, you know what, nevermind! I should completely rebuild my system and shove in 4 video cards and buy a 237-kilowatt PSU with 4 gas-powered generators to power it, and then buy some of NASA's nice tiles they use on the space shuttles so I can deflect the heat away from my wall and out the window and have the fire department on speed-dial in case the system decides to burst into flames. You have changed me.
