Eh I was reading it was just in a dollar-to-performance ratio.

Why spend an extra $300.00 for 5FPS *shrug*

Is it just me or is 1280 x 1024 and 1600 x 1200 a strange res to run a high-end card at such as the 9800GX2 and 4870?

1600 x 1200 isnt that surprising. thats a decent res, but the 1280x1024 is odd. then again, the only res that i think would really make sense would be 1900x1200 because how many people have 30" panels?

what are you on about anything over 24" in a computer monitor should use 1920x1200

thats not what im saying. im saying most people dont have a monitor bigger then 24", and the res above 24" is...2560x1600. my point is kinda based off the res ladder (as best i know)

800x600
1024x768
1280x1024
1440x900
1680x1050
1600x1200
1920x1200
2560x1600

since the res's that they tested were 1280x1024 and 1600x1200, that left 2 bigger res's left: 1900x1200 and 2560x1600. since almost no one has 2560x1600 (ie 30" monitors), the only major res left that would mean anything to a decent number of people would be 1920x1200.

I really doubt these scores are accurate. Look at the crysis score, a heavily nvidia optimized game, It's hard to believe that result, taking into account 4850 performance. But I do hope, more than anything that the 4870 will rip into nvidia.
