8 Phase vs. 16 Phase??? Which one??

Hello everyone!!
I plan to tell my brother (he live in England) to bring me a new mainboard (+RAM, Sound Card, ...), so I want to go with Asus this round!
First, I choose P5Q-E (£109@ Scan.co.uk), but chancy I saw P5Q-Deluxe for ~£122, which provide 16 True Phase (P5Q-E have use 8 Phase).

So is it cost to pay additional £13 (~26$) for 8 Phase more??? (**my next proccesor will be E7200 (Probably@ 3500))

P5Q-E
P5Q-Deluxe
P5Q-Deluxe Review @ VR-Zone

Thanks in advance!

I think more Power Phases means extra stability so I would go with the Deluxe and with about 370 FSB needed I woud deffinately go P5Q-Deluxe

Quality of the power phases is more important than the number.

Regardless, 16 phase is total overkill.

I actually believe that motherboard uses 16-phase dual regulation so it actually is equivalent to 8-phase.

So true

Here´s what Anandtech think of it.

"The P5Q3 may report the use of a 16-phase PWM but we know better. Although ASUS design engineers have added a lot of extra chokes and MOSFETS, the overall capacity of the power delivery circuit remains comparable to their competitors' more modest 8-phase designs. One thing's for certain, we can all agree that more phases do not necessarily make for a more stable power subsystem. Although we did not experience any problems with this particular solution we would rather see ASUS concentrate their efforts on designing an entirely new circuit based on a true 6-phase PWM."
