3870x2 Q6600 Stock - Page 2

He's now getting 13k in 3dmark, better. He found out that his particular board running pci-e @ 16x and dual channel requires all modules to be running 1:1 (533Mhz), and he had them at 800. As soon as he jacked with the timings and got them all running 533mhz he's getting excellent framerates! Thanks for the help guys!

13K sounds about normal for a q6600 at 2.4 ghz and a 3870X2 Overclock the CPU and you will see a big jump. I get well over 13K with only 3.0ghz. Put that thing at 3.4 or higher and you will see a BIG jump.

Yeah, he's not a big overclocker, the desktop is actually a gateway, his days of modding stuff are over, he wanted a good deal that he didn't have to mess with, although I told him overclocking was the way to go. He just calls me stupid, but can't beat easily breaking 20k marks! =)
