thats true, i didnt think of it that way.
its 10x better than collecting cards and stamps lolm but alot more expensive too

With all these proprietary ish and companies taking side, it really sucks for us gamers. Microsoft should make a physics standard in DX11 (or whatever the nex DX is called) so that people with either ATI or Nvidia cards can run physics.

Microsoft + Standards Development = Backwards Progress

We're trying to work to a point where any software runs on any hardware under any operating system. Microsoft is not.

And btw, do people really see this as only physics processing? This is astrophysics, this is weather observation, this is the ability to simulate how virus' spread... Making a piece of cloth fragment in a video game is .001% of what's really possible with the technology.

With dual+quad cores becoming the norm developers need to program the physics to be done on 1-2 of the extra cores not the gpu. Most people don't have sli for the graphics to be done on one card and the physics on another. No games take 100% of a quad atm anyways.

Edit: And if Nvidia pushes for that(1 card for graphics +1 for physics) then we were better off with ageia and their card only being 100 bucks. I'll drop nvidia in a second if that is what they have in store.
