Headphone dilemma that YOU can solve!

Thread Starter
I am in need of a new headset/headphones. I have a X-Fi xtreme gamer sound card and i do not think i am using it at its fullest potential with my plantronics .350s.

I am however stuck between several products and was wondering if any of you fine gentlemen and ladies(joke right) would be interested in helping me.

Possibly these turtle beach badboys http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16826502008

or these Sennheiser http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16826106328 <--now with these are breakage a problem with the headphones being traditional without the self adjusting stuff that i know and love.

Also what is the difference between these two Sennheisers (the hd280pro and hd280prosilveredition) besides their colors. heres the hd280pro silver http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16826109153

These Sennheisers looked good also, backorder bummer but http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16826106392 there they are. They look like they have velvet and I don't know if that will work because i get all sweaty when i game.

I looking to keep the balance below 150 but will go that high if it is need be. If there are some headphones in my budget throw them down and convince me to buy them. Can all you audiophiles with these headphones tell me about their comfort and sound.

Thank you for your time

-John

I'd go with the HD555 over the others. I haven't heard the Turtle beach, but I seriously doubt it's anything special. I found the HD280 boring and very "blah". Not bad at all, but not really all that good either. I loved my HD555s when I had them, they're good for everything, and exquisitely comfortable to boot.

Now you said had which makes me wonder. How did you lose them? Did they break. I don't want any breaking occuring. As the hd280s go; was the sound tinny/scratching or was it just there as for sound quality.

I sold them and upgraded. TheLegend still has my pair, and AFAIK they're running strong.

HD280s didn't do anything badly, they just don't do anything very well. Just a boring, generic sound. They squeezed pretty tight, too, so they weren't terribly comfy.

With a few stops along the way...

HD555s - DT770 80 Ohm - AD700 - DT770 600 Ohm - HD580s

Audio is an addictive hobby.
