These guys run so hot because they have the heat output of about 110% of a HD3870 and are using a single slot cooler.

You can't change the heatsinks yet (I tried to put my HR-03GT on it) because the heatsink is one piece and the voltage regulators will not be cooled if you use aftermarket cooling.

Just pulled the fan header out, lifted the little white plastic tab and pulled the blue wire out. No damage and instantly reversible. Fan now runs at 100% (pretty damn loud) but dropped 40c off my idle temps!!!
