do you think i will notice a diff in games on a 4850 with a Q6600 or a E8400?
If you're not going to OC do not buy the Q6600. You ant over 3Ghz if you're a gamer. And when you play games, 2/4 of the cores in the Q6600 will sit and twiddle their thumbs. Do nothing.
You'd see a huge diff in games. I saw a HUGE diff going from 2.5Ghz to 3.2Ghz when I upgraded Athlons. E4500 is a rather uselss CPU, in fact it has been or is being discontinued.
Wanna go cheap? Buy an E2180 and a good cooler (read reviews like a man) and Overclock that to over 3ghz and that thing will blow away your E4500.
All intel CPU's we discussed are of the same socket so they'd fit in your board. <edited by chozart>
