First overclock, thoughts?

Hey guys, I just wanted to post up my first stable overclock that I have ever tried and get some feedback. I have my am2 6000+ at 3.2ghz and it seems pretty stable after about 15 minutes in prime95. I just want to make sure my voltages and whatnot look good. As I said, I am a total noob overclocker so any and all feedback is welcome!

Looks good, keep watching temps and let Prime95 run for about 9 hours to be truly stable

Will do, thanks!

Very nice, have to tried to boot at anything higher? Thats quite impressive, what cpu cooler are you using, and what are youre load temps?

I have this chip from a while ago, and I needed needed big jumps in voltage to drive it up to 3.2 as well, I eventually got it up to 3.4 but my temps were getting pretty bad as I was on air cooling. It was stable for nearly an hour if I remember. I stopped there myself though because I didn't was to damage it with the temps.

Have you tried backing down your voltages to get a sweet spot?

Looking good so far.
Have you tried upping the chip set voltage yet? That may allow you to trim down the vcore (CPU voltage) slightly. It seems your vcore is a bit hight for that speed but vdroop or voltage drops may be a part of the issue which is common.
Once you get a 15-30 min full load test and are confident your stable and happy with the OC, you'll want to run at least a 6-8 hour test to finalize the the testing for assured stability.

I haven't tried a higher oc yet because my temps are about as high as I like right now, the screenie shows that they max out at about 55c, which to me is acceptable considering the as5 hasn't cured yet. Also, I am using stock cooling. I tried the xigamatek cooler and it actually raised my idle temps by 10c.

Also, I was able to do a prime 95 test for an hour with no issues. I will do a longer test when the arctic silver is set in a couple weeks.
As far as the voltage, I have it set in the bios to 1.4. For some reason cpuz says it is 1.45, and when I do a prime95 test it jumps up to 1.5 as you see in the screenie. Is this normal?

Those are pretty good temps for those voltages, good job.

The voltages changing is quite strange. Have you got cool 'n quiet enabled in the bios?

I didn't think it could change your voltages when they are set to manual but I reckon that this is the culprit.

I noticed also that the stock amd coolers you get with phenoms and this proc are actually pretty good quality. I tried an akasa revo with my phenom and the temps shot through the roof.

I thought I disabled cool n' slow, but I can check again. I only see one place in the bios to disable it. I think it said "cool and quiet control" or something.

I am going to get the correct xigmatek over lunch today and check it out, and when I get the Thermaltake V1 I ordered I will be testing the two against each other. I also ordered some mx-2 thermal paste from arctic cooling, I am interested to see how it performs against AS5. I like that the MX-2 stuff is non-conductive and needs no setup time.
