going for ATI.. help plz?? :) - Page 2

get 2x 4850 if you can't wait right now or wait till July 8 for 2x 4870

if it was me I'd wait for the 4870's , they have a dual slot cooler and have VDDR5 Ram

EDIT: wait you have a 19" monitor i would just get a single 4870 or 4850 because it will be able to max it out a 1280 x1024. if you had a 22"+ monitor then you should go crossfire

The problem is the fan speed regulator. It does not work. So they are working on a fix for that, because the current hotfix does not do anything. As far as temps go anyways.

I just took the fan header from my card and pulled the blue wire out temporarily to run the fan at 100% all the time. It's loud for sure, but I want to play with my card and 80c idle was too hot for me. The fan at 100% made me idle around 40c and load at 51c, so I'm happy till the bios fix comes out. I just can't leave my computer on at night
