I was just putting out some "general opinion" feelers!

I think I am leaning towards the high efficiency CoolerMaster- I guess I have just been spoiled with the clean "Modular" nature of my Ultra!
(low strife- I have never had a problem with any of them- and I have used quite a few of their different models- great product, great warranty (I think- never needed to use it!), and great customer service- Only downside is the efficiency)

Then why have an open poll with a closed mind? best of luck to you

Modular cables are NEVER a factor for me, mainly because I don't mind taking apart a PSU and cutting out the cables I don't need.
Manyak: Doesn't that Automatically void whatever warranty it has? -be it 2yr, 5yr; Limited or Lifetime??
Even if you Ninja the "Warranty void if removed" sticker! and something goes awry;
It's kinda hard to put the cables back on!
I mean I'm pretty damn good with a soldering iron- but, I'm not "Factory Robot" good

I suppose I'll keep the Ultra in this CM690 rig and use the CM for my next build! (don't hold your collective breaths)
I will just have to do a sum0n3 type wire cover and PSU faux-floor!

Wow- Harsh!
The "Open Poll" was to find out the general consensus of opinion "which is more important to you: An efficient PSU or a modular one for a clean case":
And yes I realize that there are some PSUs out there that are both efficient and modular!-and I do appreciate the recomendations with a fully open mind!
But, that wasn't the question posed!
Cheers to you anyway!

[Edit] See, some people are saying efficiency influences them, others are stating that the warranty plays a factor, and others say "modular- schmodular"- this was the purpose of asking the question? to ellicit feedback and opinion!

IMO, the full package is the best bet. Performance, efficiency, AND modular are all what I look for. I narrow my search down to modular only, first. Then I weed out the top performers. And if I'm down to a few that have the best reputation and rating, THEN I would look at the most efficient. For me, efficiency is more of a bonus than a necessity.

The Silverstone Decathlons are the full package.

True. Another thing you can add is how extremely quiet it is.

Great point, Refresh. And my apologies to the OP, I'm not trying to sell you any PSU's. But silence was another factor I completely forgot about when choosing the best qualities. Probably more important than efficiency, and less important than performance. Who wants a quiet, modular PSU with a lifetime warranty that flickers your graphics card in Half-Life 2? What a nightmare!
None of those factors are the most influential. Quality always comes first. Who cares if it has good efficiency, modular cables and a lifetime warranty when the PSU is a POS. Between the two, the Acbel made Cooler Master is a better built PSU. I have yet to see a good review on the Cooler Master but I would bet that is a pretty nice unit comparable to the other Cooler Masters built by the same company. That Wintech built Ultra is not very good and I would definitely choose the CM over it no matter what else was tossed in. A lifetime warranty and modular cables would never persuade me to buy a mediocre PSU.

edit:
And where did you find that Cooler Master? I didn't think they were for sale yet. We've only known about them for about a month now. Did you sign up that beta review or something?
