E6600 Safe vcore question

Thread Starter
Hi guys,

I have a stable OC, runs orthos forever no problem and temp its 30ºC idle and 50ºC under load with tat/coretemp

but i'm a little concernd about my vcore, in order to be stable i had to put 1,45v it's the only way it runs a little lower and it gives random bluescreens. i heard that some E6600 OC till 3,2ghz with stock Vcore =\\ any ideas?

should i decrease my OC in order to lower the Vcore?

thx for your help

You've confirmed it's stable by using Orthos?

I only needed 1.35v for 3.4ghz :|
1.372v is the intel spec, its to your own discretion whether you want to go higher than that, temps look good, what are your settings for multi and fsb?

with less Vcore sometimes it wont even completes the startup and when it does it crashes on orthos yes

TBH, its all the 'recent' batches of these guys. I got mine a year ago - which was still late in the lifespan of the E6X00 series and mine is almost identical in OCability as yours. It take 1.43 to get 3240 and about 1.38 for 3.05. Sadly the later chips just suck voltage.

but list more voltages and lets see if we can take it higher

I wish I had the cooling to OC as high as you guys, I'm about to see if I can tweak it a bit more and keep my temps low. Good luck with the OC

well i have FSB VTT at 1.4 and NB at 1.4 as well mems at 2.2v and they are at 888 (they are 800) with cl4 already saw somewhere that would be better to have cl5 and 1000+mhz but these mems (corsair dominator cm2x1024-6400C4D) don't go that far at least i couldn't make them go more than 1000mhz

and yes i also got my E6600 about a year ago.

@coolermaster, i always had low temps,Zalman 9700 + Antec 900 and without OC on idle i got like 17ºC when it was all brand new with no dust whatsoever on the case/fans whatever

@ U-Dubominator:

We do and quit possibly the same cooler, maybe a different fan color perhaps.

I've rebuilt it twice last night, I'm going to lap the HS and see how that works. Not going to touch the CPU just yet.

So theoretically speaking yes we have the same HS/CPU, my temps just suck. 1.3v with a 1166 FSB my temps idle were 52c 48c.. it hit 62c 58c during a vista rating, pathetic really.
