Vista does outperform games compared to XP, yes, it handles RAM much more efficiently, not to mention DirectX10.1. At any rate, get the G.Skill 1066, it costs less than what you're getting, and it's a solid 200MHz faster off the bat. In my opinion, you should get something with AT LEAST a 2MB cache, even if it's a dual core a 1MB chip will be slow as mush. Heck, I'm using an E6400 (it's got a 2MB cache) and I still think it's slow sometimes.

Alright, thanks, might just take the Vista CD from the laptop and put it on this. Maybe just 2GB would be worth it then of the G. Skill 1066?

thx

Go for the G.Skill, it's great RAM for the price.

I'm not sure if they ship to Canada, but this PSU is a few more dollars, and I'm pretty sure it will run your cards.

EDIT: And go for 2x2GB of 800 G.SKILL and OC.

Don't go for 3GB of anything, since that just kills the benefit of dual channel.

The price is pretty hard to beat on the 800 MHz ram and you should be able to overclock it, but the 1066 stuff is very good.

Alright, sounds good, the ram would be overclocked with the CPU overclock too eh? Cause I'm expecting a 2.33 to 3.4 or 3.2 GHz. That should bring it up to 1066 speeds?

Well, it depends on what dividers you use. Also, there has been some talk after Tweaktown indicated that the P45 was bottlenecking their Crossfired cards, though I'm not sure how reliable the information is. If I were you I would investigate further.

But the RAM can be run at 1066 speeds on a variety of different FSB settings.
