Ok so im happy with my setup that i have now but i would like to build up a new high end computer. I have an idea of what i would like to get for my components but wanted to know what would be the best setup for gaming and graphics editing. My budget is roughly around 1200$ so plz any posts would be nice

Vista Home Premium 64-bit, AT LEAST a 500W PSU, 7200.11 Seagate HDD (500GB or more), Q6600, TRUE, G.Skill or Mushkin memory. The case is fine. I don't see your motherboard in your sig, but I like the XFX or EVGA nVidia reference boards. 680i or 780i. Just my $.02 recommendations.

4GB of RAM, Q9450, your current case, an x38 or x48 motherboard, 4850\\4870, possibly another harddrive, 650TX, TRUE, 64-bit Vista.
Blackbox.

ccabhs, was that question for me or low strife? If you're wanting to stick with crossfire, you might want to ask him, he knows it better than me. I personally like the 8800GT's from XFX.

For a bit more you can get a 4850 that would blow one of those out of the water.

Plus you want a x38 or x48 board that has full PCI bandwith so that card won't be limited.

I've heard 64-bit XP sucks. Vista 64-bit is far, far better.

I've actually heard the same thing. I was reluctant to switch to Vista from XP myself, but since I've made the switch, I HATE using the XP systems at work. I look forward to coming home and getting on my Vista machine!

This is going on the basis that you would want to stay intel nvidia; the new ati cards look to be pretty good if you want to go that route

in my opinion the vista 64-bit is far better(I used to have xp 64-bit pro) and i found lots of glitches and alot of my older games wouldnt work on it. moved onto 64-bit home premium and so far not one issue XD. though it does use alot more ram! upto you but vista is my personal opinion
The 8800GT is what I've got and can play crysis @ 1024*768 at very high @ 27 ish fps. however the brand new GTX 280 has just been released also worth a look but costs ALOT.
