Media Center 2005 Crash's CCCP

Ok first off sorry if this is in the wrong section.

So here's whats going on I've got an XP MCE 2005 system running my 37" TV. Specs are as follows,

Mobo: K9VGM
CPU: AM2 5000+
GPU: Nvidia 8400GS
HDD's: Seagate SATA II 80GB and Maxtor IDE 250GB
CD: Sony 18X DVD-RW Drive.

Running through HDMI to a Toshiba Regza 37" LCD TV at 1366x768 (native panel res)

Clean install of MCE 2005, clean install of all current drivers, no other software aside from Power DVD 8 Deluxe, and Winrar.

What I'm running into is that MCE will randomly crash for no reason, and it seems to be related to CCCP, I use CCCP to watch MKV files and it will sometimes even randomly crash while watching a file, or after finishing up watching a file.

I can't figure out for the life of me why it keeps crashing, it doesn't seem to do so if I use VLC or other players, only when using MCE. I'd use VLC to watch my MKV's but VLC doesn't support my MCE Remote so that would be very inconvenient, Are there any other codecs for MKV that someone could recommend that may not have the same issues with MCE 2005?? or anyone have any idea how to get it to stop crashing??

LOL thanks for any help you guys can give and of course +rep to those with helpful advice.

I hate codec packs like CCCP causes more problems than it solves IMHO. You can try Haali Media Splitter or ffdshow http://www.matroska.org/downloads/windows.html I would unistall CCCP 1st and install ffdshow it plays almost any format. If that doesnt work try Haali

Ok thanks for the heads up on those. Kinda sucks to be halfway into a movie and boom MCE shuts down to desktop.
