[FUD] Geforce 9800 GTX+ to sell for $229 (GTX $199) (4870 $230) (4850 $190) - Page 2

Will be hard to beat and resist a 4850 at the $150 range.
If the 4870 really is $230, nVidia is in trouble again. The 9800GTX+ probably won't be able to beat it, and I can't see nVidia crashing the price of the GTX 260 as soon as it's launched in order to keep pace. That said, I doubt that the 4870 will be that cheap.

I think you're mixing up the HD4850 and HD4870. The HD4870 isn't on sale yet and it hasn't been benchmarked by any of the major sites. The 4850 beats the 9800GTX most of the time, and the 4870 will do so by a good deal more.

It's all rumor and speculation at this point. As far as I know, ATI hasn't officially given any word regarding the the 4870 price. However, I don't expect it will be more than $300 unless by some chance there's something they're keeping very secret.

the only thing that will keep the 3870's out of the $230 range is GDDR5 imo

If I could get a Radeon HD 4870 for $230, I would seriously consider tattooing the ATI logo on my forehead. (ouch)

If you talk to ATI, there could be a deal they'd be willing to work out...

They are selling for $230. (Just in other countries if you do the conversions.)

How about I buy one for ~$299 and sell it to you for $230? Does that count?
