Siulmagic, change your CAS (Tcl) to 3, leave the RAS (Tras) at 8 same with RAS to CAS (Trcd) and change your Precharge (Trp) to 3. It wouldn't hurt to try 3 on the Trcd. So after those changes have been made CPU-Z should read either 3-3-4-8 2T or 3-3-3-8 2T.

Let us know if that yields any positive results.

Good luck

Siulmagic:
Have you made sure that Cool N' Quiet is disabled? What about your HT Link speed? Limit that to 3x . Sounds like you're on some good steps to geting a decent OC out of your chip . In my experience, LCBxE ("x" being variable) are USUALLY pretty good overclockers. There are quite a few "golden" chips, and there are a FEW that are only sub-par. Mine and thlnk3r's chips just happen to be golden LCBxE steppings, hitting 3.0GHz+ on stock voltage. But your mileage will vary .

You're on the right track though. And Ceramique is DECENT thermal grease...typically used on naked chips and GPU's. But it is decent enough to use on a non-naked chip as well...I've used it before and its within 1 degree or so of Arctic Silver 5.

Have you gotten your temperature problems sorted out? If not, I can disassemble my rig real quick and reseat my Zalman to give you a picture of the "proper" amount of grease to use.

use 1T whenever possible, unless you're fillin up all 4 dimm slots...2T is only used when youre tryin to go for a high clock but needs a lil stability assurance, but in DDR platform..1T is always recommended.

That is true, and is good advise...HOWEVER:

The OP is trying to JUST overclock CPU right now (from my understanding). So leaving it at 2T command rate will help eliminate RAM as causing instability. He can do the RAM after he gets his max stable CPU speed out of the way.

I can agree with what you say there though...as I run 1T CR as well...and MOST of us 939'ers do.

Leave it at 2T right now. You're trying to get CPU speed now...so leaving it at 2T will make sure your RAM doesn't hold you back.

And also, if you're on Value sticks of RAM, 1T might not even work properly.

Work on the CPU first....keep your RAM knocked down as loose as possible for now .
