$10,000 Budget - Page 12

Are there any multiple-slot S775 motherboards around? I haven't seen any. But given that the E8xxx series CPU's OC so easily to/beyond 4GHz (whereas current quads are hard-pressed to realistically exceed 3.5GHz consistently), I'd look into a multiple-CPU E8xxx-based system if they're available--might get better performance over a quad-core CPU. Other than that...what other people have said. Except I'd definitely go with a multi-HD4k graphics system vs. SLI GTX2xx cards.

Wow I have never seen more people posting in one place that dont get what the thread is for and that dont heed to warning of the directors. Anyways.....

As far as the build i think the directors got the best build period, maybe add phase change and push it to get some higher numbers, but you wanted easier to deal with so thats out. Ramdisk or ssd's are the only things i can see, aside from pure aesthetic stuff

Skulltrail is dual LGA771.

So no, there are not multiple socket LGA775 boards out there.

if there were multiple 775 boards that would be amazing haha

you could do skulltrail and just get the xeons. I think they would be fast enough and since it is dual slot no performance hit.

A new heart, since going from being lucky to have AU$60 for a Graphics Card to having USD$10,000 would give me a heart attack with my familys history... (Dad and Grandpa died of heart related illnesses at young ages.)

But seriously.

I'd keep my current rig, Buy a new CPU (45nm Quad), motherboard (DFI P45), PSU (Silverstone 1000w), Another 2Gb of the same RAM, a Velociraptor, HD4870x2 and spend the rest on tools and supplies to mod my case.
