Drastic Temperature DECREASE

Thread Starter
Well i have found a solution to keep the temperature in my computer pretty low. I have put a regular room fan set to low on the side of my case. I opened up my case so the air from the fan can go in.

Temperature before fan:

Idle- 45
Load- 62

Temperature with fan

Idle- 35
Load-55

It is amazing how simple this was. Anyone do the same thing or something similar?

That just goes to prove how poor your case airflow was. If you had more/higher cfm/ better orientated case fans you wouldnt need to. Nice temp drops all the same.

For some reason my Quad runs really hot, I've reseated and reseated with different ways of applying thermal paste and mine at 27c ambient would be 45c ;/ I have a fan I use when Im gonna really stress it that I sit next to my case and it brings my idles down to 35ish also.

I think that my airflow is good it is just that not enough air is getting pulled in. I need to learn how to change the fan speeds because the fans in my case are pretty quiet. The case fan (rear) that pushes out air is faster than the fan (front) that lets in air.

Anyone know how to change the fan speed?
