I agree with the part in number 14, Microsoft needs to kill off support for XP and Vista once Windows 7 is launched.

Its definitely time for MS to rethink their OS strategy, considering vista was horrendous from the start and until service pack one was almost useless at times. MS needs to look at what consumers actually have and make a OS that works with that hardware and is easy to use and doesn't have options that need to be turned off to work properly(UAC). Ive stuck with MS through all of their shenanigans even windows ME but its time for them to actually make a good product again that isn't overpriced and works without crashing its own media player every 5 minutes. Sorry about the rant but great read.

Well I meant that most articles simply criticize the OS while not suggesting any improvements. (i. e. constructive criticism)
Every point (except for writing code that doesn't play well with Linux and Mac) is well put....
The Ultimate point was right on as well.......the Extras are a freaking joke.

As for the comment about a "one size fits all" OS, I think MS needs to build in a vLite type program during installation. This can be made user friendly, just by asking questions during setup. For example, "What kind of internet connection do you have? (broadband, dial-up, none, etc.)" The setup will then automatically turn off all the unneeded services and utilities. Of course, Windows isn't known for being modular, so it would take a lot of recoding to make Win7 easily customizable.

Um I think not. XP should be killed, but not Vista. Vista is still just a partially new OS.

XP is already killed. SP3 just bunched up all the hotfixes since SP2 and they aren't going to be releasing any more updates.

Vista will be killed as soon as they see the market response to Win7 if its a positive one.
