Anyone folding on the HD4850? - Page 2

I just installed an ATI HD4850 on my old P4 2.8GHz dual core (a pretty slow CPU by today's standards) it is using approx 50% of capacity to do folding, and if I turn on the display this rises to just shy of 100%.

I am not sure how you compute pph (is this points per hour?) but I am completeing about 1% of a work unit in a little over 3 minutes (about 6 hours per work unit)

Let me know what to run to compute pph, and I will get you an acurate number.

Here is a fragment from the log file:
[00:54:17] Completed 87%
[00:57:38] Completed 88%
[01:00:59] Completed 89%
[01:04:20] Completed 90%
[01:07:41] Completed 91%
[01:11:02] Completed 92%
[01:14:23] Completed 93%
[01:17:44] Completed 94%

install fahMon:
http://fahmon.net/

set it up by point it to:
(Vista) To point it to the GPU folder, SEARCH for APPDATA. In AppData locate the folder that says ROAMING. In Roaming find Folding@home-gpu folder. Right click on folder and copy location into the Fahmon.

(XP) Point Fahmon to C:\\Documents and Settings\\{user name here}\\Application Data\\Folding@home-gpu

let it run for a bit and it should give you an estimated PPD.

take a screen shot of it and post it.

i was getting about 1.3k PPD. which i think is very low for a powerful card. in was folding with it on my sig rig: Q6600 + 4GB ram + x64 vista
