Mobo Performance Increase?

Thread Starter
HI All Currently running a Gigabyte 965P -ds3 Mobo and was conscidering a possible upgrade. Just wondering ,when upgrading to say a X38 or Nvidia Chipest would I see any noticible performance increase or would the upgrade just be for more features? (I don't plan on x-fire or SLI). If I can get a performance jump I have no problem spending the $$'s just don't want to spend the money for no noticable increase in performance.

Definitely you won't see noticible performance increase. I would save money for future upgrade.

i actually swapped out a 6 year old biostar mobo for a new asus p5n-d and actually got worse performance going from the 915p chip with DDR to a 750i chip with DDR2.

the performance only showed up as a second less on superpi, couldnt really notice it otherwise
