Its very very rare for the cpu to be off kilter, but the ram on several of my boards does that, I have one board that if I reset cmos I have to stick in cheap stick of ram boot into the bios, change ram voltage and then go back out, and put in my high end ram. I would go in and set your ram to either 1.9v or 2.0v both are a pretty safe bet.
EDIT: You have 8gb of ram, were you running stable before, I think there is an update you have to do to vista to run 8gb isn't there?
