I understand there isnt actual child pornogrpahy in the game, but c'mon. Call me old fashioned, but I think even introducing the subject in a video game is uncalled for.
GTA IV may suffer from lack of taste when it comes to certain issues, this being one of them, but the developers DO have carte blanche when it comes to things protected by the First Amendment.
Moreover, the issues that people avoid talking about the most are usually the issues that NEED to be talked about the most. GTA IV just satirized the current state of decency by showing that things once considered pristine and unspoilt have become the total opposite of what you would normally think of due to changing times and culture.
Twenty years ago, you may have never even thought of pedophilia along with something like a child beauty pageant. Nowadays, there seems to be the obvious linkage between the two. Whether or not that it was less of an occurance twenty years ago can't be determined, but I think that there is more light being shed onto the darker side of issues like this with recent times.
Oh, and sorry to break your rose-tinted glasses. The real world does that to you sometimes.
