I see, that's always a problem and i apologize that i didn't think about that. It's hard to remeber x32 days when you go x64. That seems fair, since he won't be overlocking the case can be average, o personally would go less on the GC and stay up with the CPU, but that's just me.

He's gaming heavy so I thought it might be more pertinent to get high end graphics card.

Keep in mind if he's a "heavy gamer" that a P35 only has 1 x16 PCI-E slot, so he's not going to be SLI'ing/CF'ing anytime soon. Also, if you wait a bit the 8800GT's are going to drop in price because Nvidia has a some new cards coming eventually (9800GTX+) so it'll have to drop price for them. Also, the GT is becoming a little outdated (say it isn't so!), you might want to go up another tier in that department, and get the Corsair 520W PSU for the extra rails. After that, you're good.

How soon are these new cards coming? I'll ask him if he wants upgradability.

Oh, lol, he doesn't want the 9800GTX+, it's a waste of silicon...practically exactly the same as a regular GTX, just OC'd a marginal amount and on a smaller die. The reason they're coming out is important is because they have to drop prices on their OTHER cards in order to make room for the new one. If he desperately wants Nvidia, get a regular GTX is my opinion (although at this point Nvidia is really looking like a bunch of over-pricing bastards). The GTX+'s are slated for a July release, but hey, so were the 4870's and look what happened (they're in stores now).

I wasn't saying he should get a 9800GTX+, I was wondering when the price drop is.

Price drop will be whenever the new line hits shelves (virtual or real) sometime July (if he wants to wait).

Personally on that build, I'd suggest a Corsair 520w PSU to be on the safe side. And I'd also recommend you step into the ATI HD4850 since your friend is HEAVY gaming. CPU doesn't matter as much as GPU...and the 4850 series seem to be quite the step up from Nvidia's offerings at the moment.

Even if you're happy with the 8800GT in your list...I'd STILL recommend the Corsair 520w PSU. Better to have too big of a PSU than not enough .

I don't think I'll step up any more components at this point, I feel the build matches his use on the computer. However, the PSU seems like a point of concern with some and a confident "it's enough" from others. I'll probably end up opting for a 500W PCPnC or Corsair 550VX, just to be very cautious.
