Quick Dual-Boot Question

Thread Starter
OK... Ive been wanting to dual-boot Vista x64 and x86 XP(dont ask...) for a while now, and after 1 failed attempt(took out both OS's) I had given up for the time being.

Now, Im back with a more simple method in mind. I have a spare 120GB SATA HD, and am looking to get 32-bit XP onto it to coexist with my x64 Vista. Vista is my current OS, so this isnt as easy as it could be.

Would it be possible to unlug my current drive that is partitioned w/ Vista, and the boot from a disc, and install XP to the new 80GB drive. Get it up and running, then shut down. Reinstall Vista HD.

COULD I THEN be able to choose which OS I boot into by changing my boot sequence in BIOS?

Thanks smart(er) people!

Well, I've never done it with just Windoez OSes, but you could always install GRUB bootloader (google it) to manage your OSes. All you got to do after that is partition, format, install, and set it as active and GRUB should let you choose on bootup.

Yes that will work just fine.

The microsoft boot loader absolutely sucks if you haven't figured that out yet. And it makes future upgrades/changes almost impossible.
