I was wondering - is the case LCD mostly for playing music (so you dont have to have the TV on)?

It's a 12" (1920x1080) touch screen. It is for navigating your Media Center application. You can probably have a touch screen keyboard as well. You can even watch 1080p movies on their if your REALLY wanted to.

Please don't buy a HTPC case with a screen. I made that mistake building mine. I bought the Zalamn HD160XT because it is a beautiful case adn I was mesmerized by the touchscreen, but the screen is worthless. I had to drop another $200 just to clone the main display, since they were different resolutions. I would have ran the worthless Zalman software, but Vista won't sleep with it installed (I think it polls the USB port, because it controlls the fan speed, hance keeping it from sleeping on its own). And, to top it off, if you are using VMC, it takes the mouse and wont let you go to another desktop if you are running the monitors in extended mode. Believe me, I love the case now, but it cost well over $700 alone in the end. I would never do it again.

What exactly did you buy for $200 to clone the display? And what video card were you using?
