It's not like no one is trying. Companies are working on it. It's not easy.

i hope he wins,

drill now while searching for the BEST solution,
THEN make the switch.

if we do these bull**** hybrids (which are still good! don't get me wrong on that) we will still need gas...

really good electric on its own i think will be the future.

i hope...

technology contests are a great way to drive the industry forward. i think the current gas prices are actually a really good kick in the butt to get the US moving forward in terms of efficiency.

oh, and i drive a hybrid, nothing bull**** about it. '03 civic, the car has paid for itself, lol; with electrical cars you do need to account the production of that electricity. still, it's a step in the right direction, and a hell of a lot better than guzzling gas.

Why doesn't he plan to invest the money in drilling in our country so we can have lower gas prices?

because eventually those oil sources will run out, whereas a new technology has the potential to completely replace the entire need for oil.

That's a pretty good idea. Good motivation to move into different forms of energy. By the way, this doesn't have to be some political debate, just keep it cool. It's a good idea.

To dr00, many people disagree with some of the drilling options in our country, and i'm sure someone else has already suggested that. I'm not saying i'm one of them, but when someone posts a thread about a presidential candidate, there's bound to be a lot of crossfire (not ATI, lol).

Hydrogen cars are junk, it takes more energy to create the fuel for them than it actually provides. That's hardly a solution.
