Why a $200 difference between Q9550 & Q9450?

Look at the comparison chart here: http://compare.intel.com/pcc/showcha...&culture=en-US

The only difference is a .17 Clock speed...
I just don't get why they are $200 more expensive, though.
Can someone please explain why?

Because intel sucks at pricing and the Q9550 has a higher multiplier (8.5 vs 8)

One has a multiplier of 8, the other 8.5, thats really it, hardly seems justifiable difference for $200. I think thats why you see lots of people with Q9540s than Q9550s.

Edit: I type too slow

its just the cpu price line up... no biggie. appartely this cpu can clock faster than the other one. price drops are guarenteed so yeah

its like the extremes, slightly higher binned etc. only takes a second of work to unlock the multiplier or change it from 8 to 9.
