Also known in some circles as "Heaven." But seriously , the fact that 2K had to market it as an action game rather than as a spiritual successor to System Shock 2 really says somethings about the gaming public - let's just use the word shallow.

I played through Bioshock - all of it - and just couldn't seem to get into it. No doubt it was well done, just not really my thing. I really am enjoying Mass Effect though - brilliant game!

I hate when people write off a game (especially one on the Bioshock-level, which to me is up there with HL2) after playing it for 10 minutes. Give it a chance, man.
you mean down there with HL2...

I played through it and thought some features were cool, and some sucked. That's my review. I never played hl2 because I figured that if a bunch of computer guys liked it, it's not for me. I'm into cheap thrills.

;d <- that's a guy getting poked in the eye.

I thoroughly enjoyed bioshock and am currently thoroughly enjoying Mass Effect.

If you hate amazing games, then yes.

To me, these games are art. Bioshock brings new levels to game atmosphere and control, Half Life 2 revolutionized the use of physics and puzzles, Mass Effect brought unprecedented depth to character interaction and is more cinematic than anything else I've seen.

Honestly i thought Bioshock was shallow, i regretted buying it immensely. They focused too much on constant combat and goal-based gameplay and less on immersing you in the story.

Here's one key to success: Bioshock was stylized, and doing it right. Developing the world of Rapture was important.
