Hey guys, im thinking of upgrade my old 6400 dual to new 9450 quad
1 thing though, its a new chipset, so will i need to reinstall Windows?

If you're not upgrading your mobo then don't reinstall the OS unless you wanna do it for fun.

I want to mix ram sizes, 2 x 1 gig, and 2 x 2 gigs. That gonna work? i know it might use slower speeds but ya

No you don't have to. I upgraded my e6850 to a e8500 and I didn't have to reinstall. But if you go in to control panel>system and still see your old chip. Just right click it, choose uninstall and reboot.
I had to do that one time. From there you should be good to go.

There are 2 ways.

The best way in my opinion is pop the motherboard battery out and unplug the power cable from the PSU. Wait 5 seconds and put the battery back in and plug it back up. Start up your PC, load your settings you want in the BIOS, reset your time. You've succesfully resets CMOS
