Asus M2N-SLI Deluxe, powers on and then shuts off - Page 2

If you are truely that unhappy, Id call up Asus and ask for an RMA, and instead of a replacement you want what you paid for the board back. Every experience I have had with faulty parts like this, if Ive RMA'ed with them that many times they usually say ok if I ask for money back.

Just a thought, at some point fixing it becomes not worth it. Sorry it isnt working out for you.

I think I fixed it *crosses fingers*

There was an extra riser from the previous mobo in the case that was probably shorting the board out. I removed that and it still wouldn’t boot. It occurred to me to take the battery out and put it back in, after that's been working.

O well the board need RMAing anyways for an annoying DPC latency problem with NICs.

I will have to test it with a drive later but it posts ok now.

O and the 80GB SATA that I was testing it with some how the little piece of plastic that supports the SATA connector contacts broke off. How I have no freaking clue but when I went to plug in the drive it felt loose and when I looked the plastic piece was gone. Hopefully I can find it and somehow glue it back on, it's probably in my dad's room and he is sleeping right now.

Glad you found your issue... it always feels good when you realize that the problem was so easy to fix.

Col. Newman, some plastic model cement glue could easily remedy that problem. Glad you got your machine up and running. Good job on the troubleshooting

Good luck
