CPU cooler not sitting flush?

Thread Starter
Guys I did some experimenting. I applied AS5 on the bottom of my AC Freezer 7 Pro in a very thin layer with a credit card. I then stuck it on my Proc and it looked like it only left residue on 2 sides of the proc. Like the picture I have attached. This does not seem normal to me. I figure it should make contact better than that. Has anyone else experienced this or am I doing something wrong. I have to apply more AS5 to make contact so I figure this has something to do with my temps being high?

Yes, processor heat spreaders (the greyish silver cover on top) is not perfectly flat, it will be uneven. To overcome this, you will have to lap the surfaces of your processor and heatsink, to make them as flat as you can...
